When given the same starting point everyone grows individually based on their experiences. The beauty lies in how infinite the choices are for one person and one image. Ripeness for growth, for freedom of imagination, all sprout from the 'unfinished.' It lies in seemingly incomplete works where the paint or medium have not won over the entire canvas. Whether intentional or not these areas hold the potential for endless possibilities and that by itself is beautiful.

I explore the allure of the ever expanding potentialities a viewer brings to a work. I take everyday photographs that I have gradually collected throughout my life and translate them into line drawings. Gathering them together, with open ended texts and splashes of color, I created a coloring book of sorts, but more a book of reflection. My hope is that each person to encounter a page will interpret and finish it in their own way. Even if the pages only slightly vary from one another, they remain personal. The completed image reflects their individual growth and we can look back at these finished works in an attempt to understand their creator.
